I AM Presence

I AM present as things begin.

I AM present as things transpire.

I AM present as things end.

I AM present as there is only silence.

Reciprocation

If you want to receive, start giving. Eventually this giving-energy will make its way back to you. Namaste.

Rishi

The word “Christ” is said to mean “annointed” which means blessed by pouring oil over the head of the blessed person. But in actuality Christ comes from the ancient word RISHI which means “seer” or one who has spiritual vision and who can see the past, present, and future. Namaste.

Yogi Ginger Tea

The principle ingredient of life is LOVE.

I agree!

Breathing in ... I am grateful.
Breathing out ... I am grateful.

Buddha

Better than 1000 meaningless words is just ONE word that brings lasting peace.

Buddha, The Dhammapada

Note: For me as an Om practitioner, that single word is OM, which means “ all this” as well as the Infinite Aspect of God.

Ramakrishna

The 19th century saint and master Paramahansa Ramakrishna said that Om represents God with form as well as God without form. So, Om is the Essence of avatars like Krishna, Buddha and Jesus as well as the essence of Spirit beyond form, like love, compassion, service, patience and empathy. Om is also the essence of all musical expression. Om. Amen.

THAT (TAT)

That which is eternal, unchanging and imperishable is the Sacred Syllable Om. I believe that Rama, Krishna, Buddha, Mahavir, Sankara, Jesus and other acomplished yogis knew that they were/are Om. They identified with the One Universal Spirit and not the temporary body/mind of the current life/incarnation. Om /|\

Connecting with Source

The yogis of ancient India like Patanjali tell us that if there is a sacred sound that perfectly denotes Divine Spirit our Source then it is OM. This is according to the Patanjali Yoga Sutras. Ommm...

Wisdom of the Mundaka Upanishad

Jesus and Buddha: Common Teachings

As a Vedanta Practitioner, I see both Jesus and Buddha as full incarnations of the Divine OM (Sacred Syllable OM). Both men lived to uplift humanity. Both encouraged love, forgiveness, walking in Spirit, and leading lives that were not based on a material definition of self. Both men saw through the superficiality of material life and also its futility. In short, all material things will come to pass, and for that reason one cannot live in a way that involves grasping. We must flow with life as if it is a river. There is a tremendous book out by Dr. Marcus Borg called "Jesus and Buddha: The Parallel Sayings". This is one of my favorite books of all times. I always felt uneasy when Christian ministers dedicated a sermon slamming the Buddha calling him the Anti Christ. Remember that Buddha lived about 300 years before Jesus lived. Also Buddha came from a different part of the world. I believe that from the standpoint of non-duality, both Jesus and Buddha merged with the Divine OM and in this way when they became teachers of Nondual Spirit, it was not they who were teaching, but rather they became conduits by which Divine Spirit Itself did the teaching. They were merely human vessels completely open to challenging the present world forces of darkness, greed, temptation, and materialism, all based on a limited concept of self. In this way, they overcame great temptations and were able to complete their missions as Avatars or Divine Appearances in which Spirit manifests completely to benefit humanity. Thanks, Keith

Ten Reasons For Universal Income

In the 1960s and 1970s the famous Rock Band "The Who" from the UK sang about love and even had a song out called "Love Reign Over Me". That song is not only awesome, but it is true. I really hope and pray that Love will Prevail in my life and also the lives of other human beings around the planet. I want to see an end to war, terrorism, hatred, bullying, cyber warfare, and oppression in all forms. Love is the answer. This is the teaching of all great Enlightened Masters: Krishna, Sankara, Buddha, Jesus (Yeshua), Martin Luther King, and Gandhi, just to name a few.

Universal Income needs to happen. As technology gets better and better, more and more people are going to find themselves out of work. Even as a Technical Writer, I might find myself with no work one day if computer programs learn to write effective software documentation and training guides.

All human lives matter. Agree? With that said, nobody should die on the streets because of hunger and lack of income. Nobody needs a mansion and a Porsche 911, but everyone needs at least one solid meal a day and shelter. I hope you agree with this. In Buddhism, I have learned about the power of compassion. It is the power of empathy. When empathy is given to you, it changes you for the better. Empathy allows you to then want to give and help.

Universal Income would be Uncle Sam's way of telling the USA - we care about our people. You do not have to be in a cut-throat type of work environment just to survive. You can teach. You can work in garbage collection. You can work in social welfare. You can work as a nurse. You can work as a teacher. And because of Universal Income, you can survive. I hope Universal Income can become a reality not just here in the USA, but across the world as well. All human beings matter. Thanks.

Just my two cents here...

1. Universal Income will help feed the world.
2. Universal Income will help to educate the world.
3. Universal Income will encourage others to teach.
4. Universal Income will encourage others to learn arts and crafts.
5. Universal Income will encourage others to travel and blog.
6. Universal Income will encourage others to socialize more.
7. Universal Income will create new and unique human connections.
8. Universal Income will help society heal from a violent past.
9. Universal Income will send a message of love and compassion across the globe.
10. Universal Income will help all feel more secure and better able to serve others.

Road Signs: Please Honor

In 2005, during a lunch break at work while working in Miami, a woman ran a red light and crashed head-on into the car I was riding in. This was during the heat of the Miami summer in 2005. I was only riding in the back, but the collision was intense. Since then, I have struggled with lower back pain and I wish this fate on nobody, not even an enemy. Pain is no friend and is a challenge especially when pain medication no longer is effective. I have been taking turmeric, ginger, and other supplements and I manage, but the quality of my life is not the same now. And this is all because a woman decided to run a STOP SIGN and dishonor the right of way of the traffic. We happened to be the car that got rammed. The car I was in was totaled. The car she was in also had a huge dent (it was a SUV). So, I live in the shadow of an accident over ten years ago. Chronic pain is the result of automobile accidents. It is not fun. Nobody understands your pain. Nobody cares too. So, PLEASE, do not run stop signs. Do not run red lights. Prevent further pain to self and others - and I mean physical pain. Thanks, Keith
