Three Types of Opinion

According to a good friend of mine who is a Public Administrator and who faces opinion across the board in his career - there are three major "types" of opinion that we face in daily life. They are as follows.

One. Opinion overshadowed by complete bias. In other words - here is a person with his or her mind set without considering any information whatsoever. In the language of ancient yoga philosophy (Bhagavad Gita), this is the mode of ignorance, literally.

Two. Opinion influenced by emotions and doubts. In other words - here is a person with a sound mind but who lets emotion get the best of him or her. So, what could be a positive opinion in the mind of this person is offset by emotions - which change like the weather. In the language of ancient yoga philosophy (Bhagavad Gita), this is the mode of passion, literally.

Three. Opinion truly centered in the mind and with reason. This is true opinion - one that resonates purely on the intellectual level, if you will. In the language of ancient yoga philosophy (Bhagavad Gita), this is the mode of goodness, or pure intellectualism and reason.

If we can all get ourselves to the third type of opinion as presented in this blog post - then our collective decisions will be better and this will reshape society for the better into the future.

Ten OM Meditation Affirmations

Meditation has been ... and continues to be an empowering force in my life. Meditation is a veritable refuge during difficult times of stress and change. More specifically, the ancient practice of OM meditation enables me to connect directly with my Cosmic and Divine Source. After about ten minutes of OM meditation, I feel like I have slept well for about thirty minutes. Here are ten affirmations that will inspire you regarding this practice...of OM meditation...

OM...stands for Original Manufacturer (as in Creator of the Universe)
OM...stands for Original Man (the Divine Source from which mankind has originated)
OM...stands for Original Mountain (the Mountain from which one can see 360 degrees)
OM...stands for Original Music (the Divine Sound OM is the essence of the Cosmos)
OM...stands for Original Mantra (the Universe is based on sound structure)
OM...stands for Original Mana (in the Bible, Mana is Heavenly Food and Nourishment)
OM...stands for Original Meditator (eastern faiths envision God as a Meditating Yogi)
OM...stands for Original Master (eastern faiths trace lineages back to Gurus and God)
OM...stands for Original Maestro (as in the Maestro of a Cosmic Orchestra)
OM...stands for Original Metta (in Tibetan and Sanskrit, this is Divine Compassion)

Wishing you success with your meditations.

Udacity - Nanodegree - Kudos to Sebastian Thrun

The current and impressive Educational Venture of former Google X Director Sebastian Thrun - Udacity - has a brilliant approach to education and I hope that my son (who is in college right now) will consider this path - the path of a "nanodegree".

Udacity's Nanodegree

Here is why...

A nanodegree is focused and is also a proven market concept. With such a degree, there is no question that the academics covered can be applied in the real world immediately - which is not the case of traditional degrees at traditional schools.

A nanodegree is shaped by industry leaders like Google and other great companies. Surely, they need people who can attain company milestones and goals and this is a great way to ensure progress starting at the academic level with students.

A nanodegree is very affordable. Compare the price of a nanodegree against a four year degree at a private college or university. The differences in both time and cost will amaze you.

Again, kudos to Sebastian Thrun on this one. Well done. Heck, even at my mid-career age here, I might even go back to school to take advantage of such an amazing opportunity.

Top Google Searches

Dear Friends and Visitors:

Google, in my humble opinion, continues to excel on the web and serve the world amazingly. As you can see in the screen shot above, aside from itself, the top three searches related to Google are for Translate, Maps, and Drive.

Google Translate is a great program for those of you who have friends or colleagues or business around the world and do not have the time to learn the language. You can instantly see a translation of what has been said or written alongside your native language. Very useful indeed.

Google Maps is a great program for both the web and mobile devices because there are many great apps that interface with Google Maps. In a flash, you can find a restaurant or better way to drive and avoid traffic, for example. The list of useful ways to use Google Maps cannot be measured.

Finally, for those of you without money for Microsoft Office, there is Google Docs - which today is Docs, Sheets, and Slides and each interfaces and works in conjunction with Google Drive, a virtual hard drive where you can store and access and share files. A fantastic IT resource.

Cheers, Keith

Thank you, Dr. Wayne Dyer

Dear Friends and Visitors:

Recently, the world said good bye to a great mind and individual - Dr. Wayne Dyer - who authored many amazing self-help and motivational books and who also devoted a great amount of time toward helping local Public Broadcasting Stations (PBS) around the country. His book "The Power of Intention" positively transformed my life. As a tribute to his teachings and approach to life in general, I have written a book entitled "The Affirmations Productivity Guide" which reverberates one of Dr. Dyer's famous approaches to life..."I welcome this" and "I welcome that". The approach of gratitude and thanksgiving is truly liberating and helps us to abide in a new and greater sense of peace. This is great for both our physical and mental health. Thank you, Dr. Wayne Dyer for your life, teachings, and everything you did for our planet and humanity in general. Thank you...
